Welcome!

After months of planning, designing and working away I am happy to share and welcome you to thisdarlinghome.com. After Magnolia was born, due to limited time, I turned to sharing more of our life and my crafts on Instagram rather than a website and I’m at a point now where I feel like I have the time to commit to regular posts and to running a little online store. 

I’m so happy to share my journal with you and give you a peek into the processes taken to create my yarn, hand knit garments and woven textiles as well as our daily lives and the adventures (and misadventures) restoring and renovating this wonderfully old home of ours.

Until Magnolia is in school, woven items will be limited as the equipment isn’t particularly child friendly and the process can create a lot of fibre dust from the abrasion on the cotton and wool threads I use (which I don’t want to expose her to). I will however have regular handspun yarn updates and even the odd knit garment listed. I’m chatting with my husband, Ben, about having drop spindles made to offer little learn to spin packs which you could buy on the website.
